Position Description

A part-time Youth and Children’s Ministry Coordinator is being sought by St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Richmond Hill, to provide engaging Christian leadership in existing and growing programs. The position offers a competitive salary, with schedule to include evening/weekend hours for events and consistent Sunday morning involvement in programming.

We are seeking a Christian leader who is a team-player, passionate for the spiritual formation of children, youth and families, and enjoys working with people in the context of the mission of the Church. The successful candidate will have a passion to disciple our young people, support parish families and contribute to the broader efforts of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with our community. They should also be an enthusiastic leader who has a passion for program development, experimentation and a vision for growth.

This parish sits in the heart of Richmond Hill at the corner of Yonge and Major Mackenzie. We have a historic presence in the town and are a children-positive, worshipful, and multi-ethnic community of 300 families who have a passion for mission to our growing community.

Areas of potential responsibility, include youth programming, church school education, VBS camps, special events, family worship and Christian formation programs. Knowledge of the Anglican tradition is helpful, though not essential.  The applicant for this position should have a vital Christian faith, good communication and planning skills, demonstrated leadership and effective interpersonal skills. Any post-secondary training in Christian ministry would be considered an asset.
