Position Description


Mon-Fri mornings from September – June

Potential for reduced hours during the less active summer months of July & August

Start date: A.S.A.P

Local church is looking for a part-time administrative assistant to support the Pastor and the Board.  This position is not only a job, but also a chance to serve and minister to others. 


The person in this position should possess the following or an ability/readiness to quickly acquire the same:

  • The ability to organize and maintain the church office
  • A reasonable proficiency in operating the church’s office equipment (computer – Windows XP, Excel, PowerPoint; photocopier)
  • A reasonable proficiency with complex detail and a reasonable competency with numbers
  • An ability to deal with people, either by telephone or in person, in a sensitive and caring manner
  • Creativity and editing skills an asset
  • An ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing for each Sunday by producing the weekly bulletin, sermon notes, PowerPoints and editing sermons 
  • Producing an electronic monthly newsletter
  • Church calendar and facility management
  • Tracking donations and preparing tax receipts
  • Preparing wedding, funeral, and baptism bulletins, documents, and services. 
  • Managing and keeping the church website up to date
  • Support the Pastor administratively and various other office duties as required.
