Located in Beaverton, Ontario, Canada, Fair Havens Ministries is a Christian, non-profit organization composed of a Summer Family Camp, Retreat Centre, Outdoor Christian Education Centre, as well as a Youth Discipleship Program called Stepping Stones.

The Stepping Stones Discipleship Program is a year-round intentional Staffing Program for youth and young adults (ages 15-25).

Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate individual who will work alongside Fair Glen’s year round team in a variety of opportunities to teach outdoors with children (mainly Gr.3-8) in the spring from May to the end of June. This individual will teach activities related to biology, history, recreation (canoeing, orienteering), team-building and adventure.  In addition to program training, we will provide high ropes/climbing wall belay training.

During Family Camp in the summer there are weekly nature hikes/activities called “Outdoor Creation Experiences” for guests which the candidate would help prep and lead. You will be responsible for equipment care and environmental stewardship to ensure quality programs for the upcoming school year.  You will assist with menus, packing and cooking during 3-day canoe camping trips (training provided).

We are looking for an individual with a passion for the outdoors, positive attitude in any weather, strong motivation to learn and the ability to take initiative. Swimming/NLS, canoeing qualifications are an asset. First Aid, CPR and AED qualifications are required.  Students in training for any aspect of teaching, environmental science, camp ministry and/or recreation would enjoy this varied experience
