Position Description

About the Internship

This internship will give the successful candidate an opportunity to gain valuable Children’s Ministry experience in a church planting context. The successful candidate will work closely alongside the Director of Children’s Ministry in teaching Sunday school, and preparing for summer camp(s).


  • Planning
    • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of summer camp(s)
    • Prepare weekly supplies for children’s church
    • Write summer take home sheets for children’s church
    • Brainstorm and explore ways we can be connecting and serving our community context more
  • Leadership Development
    • Assist in weekly set up and tear down of church on Sundays
    • Rotate through serving in different areas of the church on Sunday mornings (eg teaching preschool, teaching elementary, readings and prayer etc)
    • Build intentional relationships with church and community members
    • Assist in developing and leading pre-camp training
    • Assist in developing a Junior Leaders training program
    • Meet regularly with the Director of Children’s Ministry

Ideal Candidate

  • Personal relationship with Christ
  • Comfortable working with children aged 3-12
  • Passionate about teaching the Bible and a strong desire to grow in this area
  • Proven team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and problem solving capabilities
  • Willingness to complete a Vulnerable Sector Police Check and Child Protection Policy & Procedure training
  • First Aid & CPR-C certification (considered an asset)
  • Desirable: Some proficiency speaking French (not required, but considered desirable)
