Position Description

The Associate Dean of Remote Learning is responsible to lead in the design of the delivery of existing and new curriculum available ton a remote learning platform (RLP). The Associate Dean will be responsible to lead in training faculty to teach curriculum on a designated RLP.

The Associate Dean will work closely with faculty and the Dean of Professional Programs to design remotely accessible courses leading to degrees.  Will be knowledgeable about best practices in remote pedagogy and able to assist faculty in transitioning course content onto an interactive, engaging RLP.

The Associate Dean will also lead in assisting all faculty in learning the applications of the Crandall University RLP as well as monitor this platform to ensure student success.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Crandall University Remote Learning Platform(s) (RLP)
  • Work with the university IT Department to support students and faculty on the RLP
  • Assist IT in updates for the RLP
  • Envision and propose new applications for the RLP
  • Maintain a positive relationship with IT personnel
  • Lead and develop in-house training or workshops for faculty
  • Engage in relevant professional development training and certification in order to ensure that remote learning opportunities are "state of the art"


  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Instructional Design, with a specialty in remote learning and learning technology.
  • At least three years of similar or related experience with two years of that supporting post-secondary learning.
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written communication with a strong ability to lead and work in teams.
  • Experience with developing and executing training that develops competency in remote instruction.
  • Support the Crandall University, faith, mission and modelling statements.
