Position Description

Church: Mosaic Community Fellowship (EM of Toronto Korean Presbyterian Church).

Title of the Ministry Position: Mosaic Promiseland Pastor (Part-Time)

Department: Mosaic Education Department 

Time Commitment: Approx. 15-20 Hours a Week

Responsible for: General Oversight of Mosaic’s Children’s Ministry (toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and elementary age groups). 

Responsible to: Rev. Dr. Jonathan Hong

Mosaic Community Fellowship (EM Toronto Korean Presbyterian Church) is seeking to hire a part-time Children’s Ministry Pastor who focuses on children from the ages of toddler to grade 5. We desire a candidate who will lead relevant, engaging, age-appropriate Sunday worship services for our children. We seek a candidate who loves children, is passionate about really investing in their future, and who possesses an overarching desire of wanting Christ-formation in their lives. At Mosaic you will work closely with a staff of other committed education pastors in our church, and will be provided ample opportunities for mentorship and continual training.    


  • Leading effectively the overall Mosaic Promiseland Ministry
  • To ensure that the Children’s Ministry is adhering to and promoting the plan of education outlined in TKPC’s Philosophy of Education. 
  • To ensure that one is communicating well with Mosaic’s Lead Minister and informing him of the ministry plans and outcomes of the ministry. This will entail weekly reports, attending all education related meetings, and periodically meeting with the Lead Minister
  • To transition well the children as they enter into their next ministry (youth ministry)
  • To disciple children through a clear plan of discipleship designed for them
  • To lead relevant engaging, age-appropriate, and effective Sunday services for children
  • To plan, prepare, and lead a March Break Retreat; to help organize and lead catechism programs (3-6 Fridays a year); to preach the children’s sermon during special services (Anniversary and Christmas); to help with preaching during summer VBS.    
  • To teach children about leadership, and provide strong leadership where needed in the ministry
  • To encourage and invite parents of children to get involved in the ministry
  • To work closely with, communicate well with, train, and provide clear direction for the deacon of your ministry, parent representative(s), teachers and leaders. 
  • To ensure that one’s approach to ministering to children follows a family ministry approach.  


  • First Aid/CPR training is an asset
  • Police Check required
  • Completed or be enrolled in a program of theological study. 
  • A proven track record in the effective leading of education ministries.
