Position Description

Columbia Bible College invites applications for a 1.0 FTE faculty position within the Counselling department. This position could be filled through one full-time position or two part-time positions depending on the candidate(s).

The mission of Columbia Bible College is "to equip people for a life of discipleship, ministry, and leadership in service to the church and community." Teaching faculty are key contributors to this mission through formal classroom instruction, program development/delivery, student mentoring and engagement with churches.

Position Details

Columbia's Counselling program offers a unique combination of introductory psychology courses, graduate school prerequisites, and basic counselling skills with a strong view to Christian integration. The successful candidate(s) will have graduate level training in counselling psychology, clinical counselling experience and post-secondary teaching experience.  Membership in a professional association is an expectation.  This may include, but is not limited to, the BCACC, CCPA, and AAMFT.  Given the integrative nature of Columbia's program, additional biblical-theological training would be a welcome asset.

Institutional Requirements

Affirmation of the College Mission Statement, the Confession of Faith of our supporting churches, and Responsibilities of Community Membership Statement is a condition of employment for all employees at the College. Columbia faculty also required to maintain membership in good standing in a local BCMB or MCBC church and have credentialing in the BCMB or MCBC denomination (or be willing to pursue/complete this in the initial year of employment).

Starting Date

The preferred start date for this position is July 2, 2021 with flexibility for the unique situation of the successful candidate(s).
