Position Description

Full time (30hrs/wk)

Minister to the congregation through the development of leaders and systems that will create environments where families and kids can Gather, Grow, Give, and Go. This position works with the Global Children’s Ministry Team with a special focus on Outreach and Grade 5 & 6 ministries.

  • Recruit, train and mobilize leaders as designated by the Children’s Ministry Team Leader.
  • Report, evaluate and modify programming, processes, and events for optimal effectiveness.
  • Help develop KidZone digital strategy, clarify and grow communication channels, create or procure various types of content and provide excellent collaboration with the Communications Team.
  • Utilizing volunteer teams, plan and execute family and kids outreach events so that that new non-churched families are introduced to the church community in a fun and positive way. 
  • Create and execute an integration plan to encourage new families who attend outreach events to take next steps into deeper community.
  • Develop and implement special events. This includes family and outreach events.
  • Develop, revise and manage age-appropriate weekend programming for students in grades 5-6.
  • Lead the weekend large group ministry for students in grades 5-6 under the mentorship and direction of the Children’s Ministry Team Lead.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy for ministry events and activities for students in grades 5-6 in collaboration with the Communications Department.
  • Work collaboratively with the Youth Pastor in transitioning grade 6 students into Youth Ministry.
  • Responsible for leadership development for children in grades 5-6.
  • Work collaboratively with Adult Ministries to provide opportunities for baptism, while adjusting content to be age appropriate.

  • Highly detailed with the ability to work in a large, multi-staff setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, show initiative and be proactive.
  • Be a digital native with a high understanding of social media and technology.
  • Graduate from a post-secondary institution with a diploma/degree in a related area (or equivalent experience). Preference given to candidates with a specialization in Christian Education, or Children.
