Position Description

This is an ideal position for someone such as semi-retired or mostly stay-at-home person as this position offers part-time, flexible hours. This role provides administrative and book-keeping support to the various activities of Renforth Baptist Church, located in Etobicoke (corner of Burnhamthorpe Rd. and Renforth Dr.) The administrator/book-keeper works closely with the pastor, treasurer, and various volunteers.

This is a part-time position of 15 hours per week. Remuneration will be depending upon experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in administrative and basic book-keeping tasks
  • Familiarity with social media communication tools
  • Sound organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize and carry out multiple tasks to strict deadlines and dependable
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Have an aptitude for and ability to quickly learn information technology software
  • Experience in use of Sage 50 accounting software is an asset
  • Experience in a church setting or similar non-profit organization is an asset

Role & Responsibilities

Bookkeeping:

  • Record weekly offerings
  • Receive invoices and process payments
  • Prepare basic financial reports and budget analysis

Administrative:

  • Perform reception duties over the phone and in person
  • Provide administrative support to pastor, and volunteers
  • Weekly preparation of slides in Easy Worship for Sunday services
  • Maintain social media platforms as required
  • Maintain database for church roll and routine filing of paperwork
  • Maintain legal/church records of marriages and deaths
  • Maintain church supplies on behalf of staff and volunteers
  • Coordinate the maintenance of church equipment
  • Other miscellaneous office and administrative tasks as requested by the pastor and volunteers
