Position Description

PURPOSE:

We seek to hire a part-time Youth Pastor who will align with the church's mission and vision and provide visionary oversight and pastoral leadership to the Youth of Evangel Temple. The Youth Pastor will partner with parents to develop youth with the Good News of the Gospel and support and discipline them in developing their love for Christ and others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possesses a heart to love souls and a commitment to lead and guard the youth with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Possesses a testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and exhibits the spiritual gifts of leadership and organizational skills,
• Strong Biblical knowledge and ability to communicate effectively.
• Holds a University/College/Seminary degree in theological studies or youth ministry.
• Has at least three years in youth ministry or a related field.
• Understand the unique challenges faced by the students and youth today.
• Understand Canadian culture well and contextualize the gospel accordingly.
• Understand a Youth Pastor is not a typical 9 to 5 office hour job. Frequent interactions with the youth’s parent(s) concerning the progress of the youth's life development.
• Polished people skills and positive working relationships with parents and youth leaders.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently & responsibly.
• A married person is preferred.

WORKING HOURS: MINIMUM 21 HOURS (3 DAYS) PER WEEK

• Minimum working 21 hours/week, including Sundays.
