Position Description

Lausanne Canada’s Vision: 

“The whole Church bringing the whole Gospel to the Whole World”                     

LMC is part of the global Lausanne Movement which began in 1974 when Billy Graham gathered over 2,400 participants from 150 nations in Lausanne, Switzerland for the First International Congress on World Evangelization.

Over the years Lausanne Canada has contributed to the Lausanne Movement globally by holding its own consultations on global mission issues that have a strong Canadian connection. Canada has also generated many leaders by connecting influencers and ideas for global mission engagement in Canada.

Director Lausanne Ministry Programs 

Your primary focus is to promote the LMC vision and build ministry collaboration for global mission engagement through ministry programs such as:

  1. Integral Mission
  2. Diaspora ministry
  3. Intercultural training
  4. Ministry to unreached peoples, locally and globally

Ministry Outcomes 

Advocate the vision of Lausanne Canada through networking, forums, and resources. Become a catalyst for engaging the Canadian Church in local & global mission issues such as:

LMC Diaspora Ministry

  • To catalyze local and regional Diaspora dialogue hubs and identify Canadian Christian leaders engaged in diaspora ministry 
  • Develop an LMC database of key leaders engaging in mission local and global mission

Provide the Church with Resources to Bless the Nations 

  • Provide Lausanne Global Mission educational resources for churches, Bible schools, mission agencies etc. This includes promoting Lausanne resources on the website
  • Represent LMC on the strategic groups developing and expanding UReachCanada and Pray for the Nations

Ministry Communication

  • Assist in developing a communication strategy using social media, mail chimp and LMC newsletter
  • Assist in gathering resources to develop and expand LMC’s ministry projects

Qualifications

  • Committed Christian with a passion for cross-cultural mission    
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in cross-cultural ministry in Canada or overseas
  • Has some experience in using social media to promote ministry opportunities.
  • Works well in a multicultural team context with a humble attitude  
  • Willing to do essential ministry travel                                                                 
  • Good communication skills and works well in diverse cultural contexts
  • A self-starter with an ability to network to build ministry partnerships
  • Ability to develop funding base for ministry projects                                        
  • Ability in public speaking and co-facilitating training seminars

Position Requirements

  • Part-Time position (20 hrs.) – Secondment a possibility 
  • Funding based on building a personal prayer and support team
