Position Description

Overview

UrbanPromise Toronto is a non-profit organization that commits to a 20-year journey with a child and their family. Our Mission is to reach children in Toronto Community Housing with the love of Jesus, and raise them into leaders, who restore their community. UrbanPromise Toronto is seeking a full-time or part-time Ministry Supervisor to lead community ministry at one of UPT’s program sites. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Christ-follower who has a passion for children, youth, and their families from Toronto Community Housing neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with children, youth and their families in the community
  • Lead the ministry planning and program development in the following primary opportunities:
  • Daily after-school program during the academic school year
  • Summer day camp program (6 weeks)
  • March Break Program
  • Weekend excursions and retreats
  • Lead a program team which includes Program Directors, StreetLeaders, Volunteers and short-term missionaries
  • Provide mentorship and discipleship opportunities for high school ages youth
  • Utilize your gifts, talents and passions to serve the community and organization
  • Maintain local partnerships with Churches, community agencies and organizations
  • Ensure safe practices in program environment in accordance with UPT Policy & Procedures including written materials required, Public Health and Safety and Kitchen Safety Standards

Qualifications

  • A deep personal relationship to Jesus and member of a local church
  • Agreement to UPT Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision and Core Values
  • 1-2 years’ experience and/or education related to working with children, youth and families
  • Comfortable sharing the gospel, planning, and leading bible lessons
  • Confident in building relationships
  • Able to work well independently and in a team setting
