Position Description

King Alfred Academy is seeking a teacher capable of teach basic Latin from grades 2-10. This is a full time position.

King Alfred Academy is a classical Christian school in North Waterloo. As a young school, we are an intimate community. Currently our faculty consists of 7 teachers and we have approximately 65 students enrolled. We use a classical curriculum that seeks not only to teach students facts but rather instill in them the tools of learning that will last a lifetime. We are convictional Christians with a passion for helping parents fulfill the command of Ephesians 6:3 to bring up children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

We are seeking:

• biblically minded teachers that have an established Christian worldview.
• teachers who have a desire to pass on a love of learning while cultivating both order and joy in their classroom.
•  teachers that are lifelong learners as they emulate what we long to see in our students.
•  teachers who are excited about using their skills to help continue to establish a new school that has the opportunity to impact not just the current generation but generations to come.
• Working knowledge of Latin is required.
