Position Description

Through a grant from the Government of Canada, Lambrick Park Church and Wiseways Childcare Centre are seeking to hire three creative, organized and proactive individuals to join their teams as interns. All positions are in person, on-site, for the dates noted, and anyone between the ages of 15 and 30 may apply.

Our objective is to provide summer staff with opportunities to increase understanding and skill in the relevant areas of work, to extend Christ’s love to others, and to deepen their own faith and trust in God.

Term: 8 wks Hrs /wk: 30

Wage: $16.50

The Intern will work directly with the Children’s Pastor to:

  • Plan, prepare, and lead programs designed for children from infants to grade 6, held during daytimes, evenings and weekends
  • Consider and develop programs thoughtfully geared for families and children of varying ages, interests, abilities and social backgrounds, from the local community
  • Recruit, establish positive relationships with and schedule volunteer assistants
  • Ensure all resources and materials are ordered, ready and available for each session
  • Assist staff and volunteers with office duties and coordination of other programs involving children
  • Assist in planning programs designed for launch in the Fall.
  • Coordinate and schedule teams and/or volunteers and work directly with them as part of a team of program leaders focused on the continuity of our Youth and Child programs
  • Communicate and develop relationships with parents, caregivers, families and the church as a whole
  • Develop leadership through the example and mentoring of experienced leaders, including pastors and senior staff with extensive experience with youth, children, administrative and technical directing, and leadership.
  • Observe and develop the intangible aspects of leadership in real situations: responsibility, values, initiative, honesty, and respect will be encouraged and modelled daily in the workplace
  • Learn/use a variety of technology including scheduling, social media, and fundamental office applications
  • Note that the individual’s skills and strengths may also allow for other responsibilities throughout the term.
