Position Description

General Summary:

Support Fight4Freedom’s overall mission and mandate.

The Corporate Fundraising Manager will be responsible for devising and implementing a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate sector to an agreed annual target.

Key Tasks: 

  • To develop and manage Fight4Freedom’s strategy for raising money from Corporates as an integral part of the charity’s overall fundraising programme.
  • To develop and maintain forge long-term relationships with corporate supporters and raise funds towards the ongoing work of Fight4Freedom. In order to successfully accomplish this it is essential to nurture and maintain existing corporate relationships and develop an extension and replacement strategy with the International Director
  • Develop and maintain your own portfolio of companies as part of this programme and take responsibility for delivering and developing our plans for securing new income from businesses by identifying growth areas and opportunities within the corporate sector.
  • Develop a long-term strategy for Corporate Giving applications within the corporate arena.
  • Monitor CSR/Corporate Responsibility issues in the media, and keep up to date with professional fundraising associations and media regarding fundraising tools and skills development.
  • To develop and write funding proposals, corporate applications and reports.
  • To manage relationships with Corporates before, during, and after receipt of funds and maintain a high level of supporter care with Corporates.
  • Track, analyse and report on fundraising results in the Corporate field and measure, manage and report performance using agreed performance measures. 
  • Work closely with Fight4Freedom events committees to maximise corporate contacts leverage and manage corporate participation in the events programme.
  • To continue to raise the profile of Fight4Freedom by networking at appropriate events (in-person and virtual) and secure new introductions.
  • This Job Description is not exhaustive and the postholder may be required to undertake other appropriate duties and projects from time to time.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Christian Faith: Have a solid and vibrant Christian faith.
  • Church Involvement: A positive relationship with a recognized church and regular attendance.
  • Ministry Experience: Have a solid background and understanding of Christian ministry (3-5 years).
  • Mission Agreement: Compliance with Fight4Freedom’s theological and mission statements.
  • 2+ years experience experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Post-secondary degree
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to develop and produce grants and other proposals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to take direction and work effectively independently
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Clear understanding of the role of fundraising within the charity sector 
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to understand the strategic aims of the organisation and to translate these into presentations and applications for funding
  • Knowledge of current developments/trends in area of expertise.
  • Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports, where required
  • Skill in the use of technology, including the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a Mac-based environment using multiple software platforms (Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs/G Suite), and other programs as required
  • Database management skills.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections, where required.
  • Ability to provide technical advice and information to Leadership and staff in area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of corporate fundraising policies and procedures and applicable local, provincial, and federal regulations and mechanisms 
  • Ability to understand and prioritize workflow priorities while taking initiative to begin, track and complete tasks and/or projects
  • Experience in volunteering or working for a not-for-profit corporation is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time position with part-time hours 20-40 hours per week.

Salary/ Pay Rate: $18-$30/hour, depending on level of experience and education. All staff positions are on a support raised salary where the individual must raise 100% of their support. This means that you raise the funds for your salary as an inner-city missionary with Fight4freedom through your contacts, churches and relationships. We offer support in how to do this through coaching, training, and resources.

What experience do you have around database management?

Experience:

  • Proven successful experience in corporate fundraising or a sales environment generating significant income 
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a number of senior and diverse relationships
  • Have excellent relationship building skills and a track record in creating mutually beneficial partnerships within the corporate sector 
  • Experience in writing and delivering presentations and speeches to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Proven experience of working with a fundraising database 
  • Experience working in a corporate environment, including within CSR and charitable giving would be an advantage
  • Google Suite: 1 year (Required)
  • Understanding in Budgeting and Finance Protocols
  • Excellent written and spoken English language (proof of written work is required)
