Position Description

Number of openings: 6
Wage: $ 16.50/hr-19.00/hr (based on qualification and experience)
Vacation: 4% paid out
Date Range: June 26– August 25, 2023
Location: 3819 Bloor Street West, Toronto

Responsibilities:

• Help lead the Kids Day Camp Program
• Implement regular short half-day field trips 
• Provide high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for participants
• Supervise participants and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being
• Record and track participant medical and behavioural info
• Be aware of and implement all policies and procedures associated with the program
• Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the program
• Ensure the cleanliness of off-site and church locations
• Qualifications:
• Must have basic administrative and management skills
• Must have basic experience in leading children and youth with a variety of learning and behavioural challenges
• Must be able to function in a team culture
• Must be able to implement learning activities that: are age-appropriate, utilize experiential learning techniques, are linked to practical life applications, and build social competencies
• must be able to adhere to the design principles of making sure the program is developmentally appropriate, safe, and welcoming of diversity and uniqueness
• Must have stamina and ability to participate in activities

Requirements:

• CPR level C and Standard First Aid is an asset
• Clear Police Security and Intervention Record Checks
• Under the age of 30 (grant requirement)
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected persons under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and legally required to work and study in Canada
• Access to own vehicle is an asset
• Lifeguard certification is an asset
