Position Description
General Description:
For 40 years Quinte Youth Unlimited (Youth for Christ) has provided a performing arts ministry to youth in the Quinte area. This includes a senior high stage performance team, a junior youth dramatic arts, summer arts camps, dinner theatres and more. to create safe places for students of all ages to engage with their creativity, faith and each other.
Quinte Youth Unlimited (YFC) vision is to help all youth move forward with faith. As part of Youth for Christ Canada and YFC International our overall mission to engage and equip youth to know and follow Jesus.
Job Description:
As a missionary with QYU (YFC), the Performing Arts assistant director will work alongside the director in the creation and implementation of outreach programs for the spiritual and social development of teenagers and children.
Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
- Assist director with musical, drama, dance and technical choices for shows
- Hire, train, coach and oversee volunteer positions for various part of performing arts production
- Help research, purchase, arranging of music and oversee licensing
- Attend and contribute to production meetings and team regular rehearsals
- Oversee and develop auditions, testing, training and rehearsal process
- Participate as part of the performing art production team
- Recruitment and develop team members including band, choir, dance and student leadership
- Regular meetings with director for planning, review and budget analysis and decisions
- Produce regular reports and proposals regarding ministry and financial development
- Help develop new programs for promotion and outreach
Qualifications:
- Strong relational and communication skills (written & verbal)
- Dynamic personality, confident leadership
- A passion for relational ministry, regular church community involvement, healthy practice of sharing the Gospel
- Event planning and administration experience
- Ability to direct groups of people, specifically children and youth
- Production management experience
- Volunteer management experience
- Must have transportation or access to a vehicle
- Ability and willingness to fundraise (prior experience an asset but not required)
- A University or College degree, or significant experience in related field
Other Details:
- Full-time position available (part-time can be considered)
- Flexible starting date in Spring 2023
- Salary position negotiable according to experience, plus benefits
- Fundraising deputation is required.
