Position Description

Part of the Knox Camp Lead Team, the Kinder Coordinator is a team leader who advocates for and oversees all aspects of the Kinder program (ages 4-5) at Knox Camps. The Kinder Coordinator works with one other staff to lead a program of 8-12 campers. Able to multi-task, Coordinators are innovative, organized, personable and accountable. Coordinators report to & are supported by the Camp Director.

Responsibilities

Pre-Camp | 4 Weeks

  • Attend and be punctual for all lead team training days (dates to be provided at interview)
  • Plan daily activities (games, crafts, etc) for the 7 weeks of Kinder camp
  • Work together with the other coordinators to plan Junior & Senior leader training
  • Purchase supplies with the budget allotted to Kinder Camp

Training Days | 1 Week

  • Assist in the training of Junior & Senior leaders by leading assigned training sessions 
  • Facilitate and participate in team building activities

Day Camp | 7 Weeks

  • Participate in morning devotionals and afternoon debrief meetings
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Kinder Camp program are organized and run smoothly
  • Lead Kinder camp games and activities planned during program planning weeks
  • Provide leadership opportunities and support to Junior and Senior leaders 
  • Be punctual, prepared, and purposeful in all the program aspects you are part of
  • Be a resource for other leaders and be an effective team member
  • Model compassion, humility and love in all actions
  • Teach campers and staff about the Christian faith 

Post-Camp | 1 Week

  • Participate in debrief meetings with the lead team
  • Updating the camp manual for the following year
  • Help with summer-end clean up
  • Attend and assist in leading Knox Camp Reunion (in September)

Qualifications

  • Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Organization, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, creative, and adaptable leadership
  • Previous experience working in a camp environment with children ages 4-5
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus and a dedication to serve Him

  • Compensation is $15.50/hour + 4% vacation pay for 13 weeks of 37.5 hours per week*
