Position Description

Junior & Senior leaders are part of the ‘front line’ of Knox Camp — in charge of loving and caring for campers. They are enthusiastic and creative in leading squads of up to 12 campers, cultivating a camp environment that is formative, fun and memorable. Junior & Senior leaders report to and are supported by the Kids Coordinators. 

Responsibilities

Training Days | 1 Week

  • Attend and be punctual for all staff training days (dates to be provided at Interview)
  • Plan instructionals to lead during the camp weeks

Day Camp | 7 Weeks

  • Lead a squad of up to 12 campers ages 4-5 (Kinder), 6-11 (Kids), or 12-14 (Youth)
  • Lead small groups, active games and choice activities
  • Plan and lead 1 hour activities (sports, drama, and crafts)
  • Participate in 15 minute skits
  • Clean up after camp activities
  • Participate in morning devotionals and afternoon debrief meetings
  • Participate in all camp activities and support teammates
  • Be a mentor to LITs (leaders in training) during their service weeks
  • Model compassion, humility and love in all actions
  • Teach campers about the Christian faith 

Qualifications

  • Current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Experience working with children
  • Positive, team-minded attitude
  • Enthusiastic, creative and flexible leadership
  • Previous experience working in a camp environment an asset
  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus and a dedication to serve Him

  • Compensation is $15.50/hour + 4% vacation pay for 8 weeks of 37.5 hours per week*
