Position Description
Sanctus Church’s vision is to become a regional church of 10,000 meeting the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of people in Jesus' name.
We’re seeking a friendly, warm, and reliable individual to provide Human Resources direction on a flexible, part-time basis at our mid-size church located in Ajax. The HR Director will report to the Senior Executive Pastor to provide support and guidance for staff management. They will also report to the Elder Board.
The nature of this role requires the successful candidate to work both in-person for meetings and to build relationships balanced with the ability to work from home or offsite as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment: be involved in interviewing candidates for various roles in collaboration with hiring managers
- Off-boarding: conduct exit interviews for out-going staff
- Mediation: facilitate conflict resolution by mediating any internal staff conflict and escalate when needed to the Senior Executive Pastor or Elder Board
- Benefits evaluation and negotiation; coordination and oversight of the yearly renewal
- Monthly meetings with the Elder Board to report on staff culture and trends
- Work alongside the Executive Director of Administration to provide staff development,updates to front line managers, and to work towards having complete succession plans for all key roles
- Provide oversight and direction to all employee policies and procedures
- Provide oversight and direction to all employee performance reviews and SMART goals
- Provide oversight and direction to all job descriptions, job transitions, job offers, and compensation
- Responsible for sensitive documentation retention
- Leading and conducting internal HR investigations and producing detailed reports as needed
- Support the Senior Executive Pastor through regular risk, governance, and compliance assessments, ensure all legal and regulatory obligations are met, and ensure all employees abide by the Sanctus Church staff handbook
