Hours Employed: Part-time, 20 hours/week
Salary: $20.00/hour fundraised from a personal support base (additional financial aid available)
Qualifications: Post-secondary degree/certification
Overview of Position:
The purpose of the LYU Elementary Outreach Worker role for Lakefield Youth Unlimited (LYU) is to mentor and develop relationships with elementary students, seeking ways to meet physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual needs for the purpose of relational evangelism and discipleship. This role will serve youth and their families through programs/school support at the local schools and programs/outreach at our LYU Barn.

Expectations:
- Passion and heart for mentoring and developing relationships with elementary school aged students.
- Maintain current programs and develop new programs to support and expand relationships with students and families.
- Work alongside and collaborate with LYU elementary team, volunteers and committee members.
- Engage with students primarily at school locations (Public and Catholic) by hosting LYU programs and providing school support within the classrooms.
- Positively receive direction and guidance from the LYU Satellite Director.
- Develop positive relationships and communicate with parents, students, churches, school staff and other local organizations.
- Pursue an active and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to better equip oneself, including the YFC Canada Credentialing program.
- Establish a personal financial support base and participate in fundraising events for the satellite.
- Help to build and maintain corporate community partnerships in regards to funding.
Program Requirements:
These are current programs that the Elementary Team will organize and facilitate during the school year:
- Weekly in-school support
- Seasonal events within LYU and the community
- After-School programming (1-2 days a week)
