Position Description
Overview of Paramount Drive Alliance Church:
Paramount Drive Alliance Church is in the south-east corner of Hamilton within a suburban area that has both established neighbourhoods and newly constructed sub-divisions.
We are a Christ-centred, Spirit-led, Mission-focused congregation that emphasizes experiencing the presence of God, building supportive relationships, reaching out with gospel love and living lives that our faithful and free.
The goal of our corporate worship is to invite and encourage attendees to engage in sincere and varied expressions of praise, thanksgiving, intercession and reflection.
Key Responsibilities:
- In consultation with the lead pastor, select songs and other complementary service elements to create a meaningful and cohesive corporate worship experience for congregants.
- Lead corporate worship three times per month and serve as a member of a worship team the other Sunday(s) of the month.
- Coordinate and resource weekly rehearsals that encourages team members and promote their preparedness to lead the congregation in corporate worship.
- Administer the scheduling of volunteers so that each corporate worship service is adequately staffed with vocalists and musicians.
- In consultation with the lead pastor, assist in planning, preparing and presenting extra musical events (e.g., Sunday Worship Nights, Good Friday, Christmas Eve).
- Recruit from within the congregation capable volunteers and encourage their ministry participation and musical development.
- Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all necessary statistics and reports associated with public worship (e.g., CCLI reporting).
- Steward wisely the equipment and financial resources entrusted to the worship ministries of the church.
Requirements:
- Saving relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit
- Personal integrity above reproach, a life-long learner, self-motivated, goal-oriented, team player, flexible
- Affirmed musical giftedness with competency in leading corporate worship music both vocally and instrumentally (i.e., piano, guitar)
- Ability to reliably commute to the church building
- Familiarity with digital sound mixing and presentation software (e.g., Easy Worship, ProPresenter)
- Effective written and spoken communication skills
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Valid ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License
- Current Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
Terms of Employment:
The Director of Worship will be employed by the Board of Elders and supervised by the Lead Pastor.
This position requires work on Sundays and weeknights for rehearsals. The actual number of hours worked each week will fluctuate, but the average will be 8 hours/week.
Remuneration:
This position is part-time, based on 8 hours per week.
Hourly wage is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Annual vacation: four weeks of pay and will include four Sundays. Vacation pay of 8% will be added to each pay. Additional Sundays off can be coordinated with the lead pastor, but not to exceed one every 3 months.
