Position Summary:

This person will be responsible for honouring God by connecting local churches with families in crisis through the establishment and growth of Safe Families Canada in Barrie-Orillia. As a valued member of the National Team, the Chapter Director works within the leadership structure under the direction of the National Office, specifically the National Director of Operations, and oversees all aspects of the development of the local chapter to surround families in crisis with caring compassionate community.

The position entails leading staff and volunteer teams, donor stewardship, strategic planning, and financial sustainability.

Qualifications

  • Build and implement a development plan for the local chapter including partnerships;
  • fundraising; and supporting staff, volunteers, and families.
  • Post-Secondary education in business admin, public relations, or development
  • Education and/or strong experience in Christian ministry and leadership
  • A strong understanding and/or experience with social work systems, local community
  • resources, specifically, the federal and provincial child welfare systems
  • Excellent communication skills in speaking and writing
  • Experience in fundraising and donor relations
  • Experience working in Christian churches in leading, teaching or preaching
  • Experience working within charities, specifically faith-based charities
  • Strong leadership abilities in nurturing healthy collaborative teams
  • Live locally with access to personal vehicle
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Record
