Reporting to the Year Round Team, our Seasonal Leadership Team (SLT) roles run from May 6/mid-late June - August 25 and are the core team that prepares for summer camp and provides leadership to the staff and volunteers that make up our Summer Team through July and August.  In addition to preparing for summer camp, the SLT support Activity Day rentals for various schools throughout May and June. 

Our SLT are hired not only for their ability to perform their duties, but for their leadership, character and commitment to excellence.  At the forefront of our mission to lead campers in their faith journey, accepting each one wherever they may be spiritually, each SLT must meet the following requirements:

• Agree with and behave in alignment with Camp Chestermere’s mission, Statement of Faith and Leadership Posture
• Demonstrated ability to maintain healthy work relationships in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, plan, organize, execute with excellence
• Humble and teachable; willing to serve.

Hours

During the months of May and June, the SLT works Monday - Friday with occasional evening or weekend work requirements (with time off in lieu).  

During the months of July and August, hours are 2:30 pm Sunday - 7:00 pm Friday.  

Staff are expected to be available for the duration of their contract (May-August) however, are able to schedule up to one week of time off throughout the time of their contract.

Compensation

Camp Chestermere provides a competitive compensation package. SLT positions pay $575/week plus meals and lodging. Given the unique 24/7 nature of a camp environment throughout July and August, there is a volunteer element to the role for hours beyond a regular work week.
