Position Description

Salary/Hours: $16.55 per hour for 35 hour per week for 8 weeks, with the potential to work one weekend

Location: Hybrid - 75% remote, 25% in person

Reporting to: Marketing and Events Manager

 

Are you a creative thinker with a knack for digital design? Join our team as a Graphic and Web Designer! In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping our organization's visual identity and communicating our message to diverse stakeholders.

The Graphic and Web Designer will play a role in crafting digital and print materials while ensuring consistency in branding and messaging. If you're passionate about graphic design and web development, we want to hear from you!

 

Responsibilities:

Graphic Design (40%)

  • Conceptualize and produce a range of digital and print materials, maintaining brand consistency.
  • Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts in alignment brand guidelines.
  • Develop key communication assets such as social media posts, event posters, annual reports and sponsorship packages.  

 

Website Management (50%)

  • Revamp and update content on our website (www.neighbourlink.org) using Wix.
  • Design website layouts, logos and branding elements reflective of our values and audience.

 

Administration (10%)

  • Organize the organization's Marketing and Communications folders and contacts database.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or having completed a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, web design or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in graphic design principles, typography, print, and web media.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with acute attention to detail. 
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Google Suite, Canva, and Wix or similar website design software.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to evolving priorities. 
  • A vulnerable sector screening is required as part of the hiring process.
  • Eligible applicants must meet Canada Summer Jobs Agreement criteria.

Is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and;

Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
