Position Description

General Overview

Cornerstone Christian Community Church is a non-profit, Christian organization. The Church operates a community centre-style facility that is open 7 days per week and serves the community through church services on Sundays and various events and programs throughout the week. For more information, see here: Cornerstone Christian Community Church.

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant is a key member of the Operations Team, providing administrative support to the different growing ministries (including Children’s, Youth, Welcome, Worship, Small Group, Young Adults, Culinary, Communications, Outreach, and Recreation ministries). The position requires someone who loves working with people, has excellent communication skills, is very detailed and organized, and can work with various software and technology tools. The church’s Operations Team works as a cohesive unit to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the church’s ministries.

Job Responsibilities

Work with Church Management Software:

  • Input, update, and maintain various data points/processes for all ministries
  • supported.
  • Record and follow up with new attendees and update member information.
  • Track attendance and other recreational and ministry-related statistics.
  • Draft and send communication emails to various ministry groups.
  • Create and process forms, and book events and rooms.

General Support Includes:

  • Assist in the onboarding process for new volunteers, including collating
  • references and coordinating police checks.
  • Update and maintain volunteer schedules, master lists, and reminders.
  • Create name tags, certificates, and other printed materials for various ministries.
  • Assist with sign updates and website edits.
  • Create and/or update projects in Project Management Software.
  • Create and maintain a catalog of video/livestream material.
  • Process expense reimbursement forms.
  • Assist with miscellaneous printing, copying, cutting, and laminating tasks.
  • Keep inventory of welcome supplies (e.g., ministry cards, welcome bag supplies).
  • Coordinate food and refreshment requirements – send weekly numbers and
  • create labels.
  • Record meeting minutes as required.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned

Education, Skills, and Experience Required

  • A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Christian ministry.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of other post secondary education and experience (minimum 2 years in related field).
  • Technically savvy, proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.) or equivalent productivity applications (e.g. Microsoft Office suite).
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is an asset.
  • Experience working with Church Management software, project management, and/or other enterprise systems.
  • Experience in a non-profit or church environment preferred.
  • Able to learn quickly.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed requiring minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented.

  • Reports to: Operations Manager
  • Must complete Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Must be able to work on Sundays (on a rotational basis)
