Yonge Street Mission (YSM) is a vibrant, non-profit Christian organization leading a collective movement to end chronic poverty in Toronto. Since 1896, we’ve worked to transform the lives of people living with poverty, going beyond immediate needs by offering wrap-around support via holistic programs and services, and a pathway which enables street-involved youth, families in need, adults experiencing poverty and vulnerable communities to move from surviving to thriving.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Family Services Director to lead our Family Services Department (Daycare, Care Management, Youth Education  and Computer Literacy) enabling  YSM to provide preventative and restorative support to families experiencing poverty in  a coordinated, effective  and accountable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate YSM’s Family Services to align with YSM’s strategic plan
  • Program Development that ensures the effective running of services, strategic initiatives and partnerships that meets the holistic meets of participants, moving families out of poverty towards achieving life goals
  • Provide oversight to Family Services budgets of ~$ 2 million (both privately and government funded)
  • Lead, manage and support personnel connected to Family Services to their expected outcomes with excellence while maintaining positive relationships, psychological safety, staff wellbeing.
  • To lead and contribute to the broader life of YSM, participating in the Ministry Leadership Team (MLT), fostering collaboration between Family Services, YSM Priority Populations and Program Services
  • Ensure impact outcomes (TIMESTR) are achieved, documented and communicated effectively
  • Maintain and cultivate strategic external partnerships

Qualifications:

  • Non-profit professional with a passion for serving those impacted by urban poverty
  • Commitment to personal and systemic change
  • Demonstrated results working within a multi-service agency
  • Collaborative, data-driven, outcome focused leadership approach
  • Experience in an ABR, strengths based and trauma-informed care approach
  • Ability to thrive in diversity and work within an anti-oppressive framework
  • Strong budgeting, administrative and relational skills
  • Commitment to YSM’s mission, principles and faith-based values
  • Preferred Masters of Social Work or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.

Compensation: YSM offers market competitive rates and will pay a starting salary of $94,784.67 for this role, combined with a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks.
