Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Part-time (.5 FTE - 2.5 days) Elementary French Teacher to join our team. The French Teacher will be responsible for teaching Grade 4 through 8 French classes following the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum guidelines.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday (preferable), 8:00am - 2:30pm. Depending on the candidate, part-time work suiting the schedule of the candidate could be considered.
Job Requirements:
- Teacher certification (OCT) or equivalent
- Qualified to teach Elementary French
- Fluent in all aspects of French Language
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
- Minimum experience of 1 year working with children aged 4 - 13 years old, in a classroom setting
- Have knowledge of/or experience with the CEFR French Standards
- Have knowledge of/or experience with the AIM curriculum
- Professional, mature, warm, patient, and nurturing
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with confidence
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to teach in both large and small groups
- Creativity and independence in lesson planning
- Participation in staff meetings and professional development, as well as school events and fundraisers, as requested
