Scarborough Chinese Baptist Church (SCBC) is a trilingual (English, Cantonese and Mandarin) multigenerational church with about 1,800 members. We are strategically located in Scarborough, Greater Toronto Area, which is one of the most dynamic and multicultural areas in North America. Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the Mandarin Ministry Associate Pastor will work in collaboration with the Mandarin pastoral staff, deacons and lay leaders in a team approach to holistically minister and support the discipleship of the 150+ members in our Mandarin-speaking congregation.

Major Responsibilities

• Together with the Senior Pastor and the Mandarin Pastoral Team, provide overall direction, leadership and coordination of ministry within the Mandarin-speaking congregation.
• Together with the pastoral team for missions and outreach, strategically lead the Mandarin-speaking congregation in outreach ministries.
• Develop the existing ministries for young adults and young families.
• Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead and co-ordinate the Worship ministry
• Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead the Nurture ministry.
• Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead the Discipleship Training ministry.
• As directed by the Senior Pastor, perform general pastoral duties including preaching, teaching, visitation and pastoral counseling.

• Qualifications and Educational Requirements
• Fluency in Mandarin (writing and speaking) and ability to communicate in English (writing and oral). Cantonese speaking is an advantage but not a must.
• A Master Degree of Divinity (M Div) or equivalent level of theological education at an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) accredited institution or a Theological School recognized by SCBC.
