Position Description

Are you passionate in Early Childhood Education? We are currently seeking a dedicated Head of School to join our team and make a lasting impact on the lives of children between the age of 18 months to 6 years and their families.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education licensing regulations to achieve a clear license annually in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act for Quality Improvement
  • Ensuring delivery of a high standard inclusive Montessori program, meeting AMI standard.
  • Coordinate and implement a range of community outreach and promotional activities to recruit children and families to achieve optimum enrolment in programs
  • Stay informed about provincial licensing requirements and ensure the daycare adheres to all regulations.
  • Actively engage with the local community, building partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Building a strong community among staff, parents, and children.

We’d love to talk with you if you possess: 

  • Master/Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Hold a valid RECE license with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • OCT/ AMI/ MACTE Montessori Certified
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of childcare management.
  • Experience in researching and writing grant applications is an asset.
  • Experience in reconciling tuition collections and managing municipal subsidy funding and payments is an asset
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Successful Candidates will be required to meet the following ministry requirements:

  • Ministry of education Director Approval
  • 2 Step TB
  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • ⁠Standard First Aid & CPR Level C- Within 3 months of hire

Salary: Competitive Salary
