Position Description

TIME COMMITMENT: Full Time, 37.5 hours weekly
DURATION: Permanent
LOCATION: Office located in Grimsby, ON; Hybrid worksite (Tuesday to Thursday required onsite)
Start Date: Immediately
Salary Range: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the VP Ministry Advancement, the Director of Ministry Advancement will play a primary role in Bible League Canada’s strategic planning process and the development of new and existing organic fundraising partnerships. Key responsibilities for this role will involve the training, leadership and facilitation of various stakeholder groups, including the Ministry Advancement team, BLC’s Managers Team and all staff, as well as participating in the development of new and existing fundraising and program partnerships.

The incumbent should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting effectively and diplomatically with staff, internal & external stakeholders, executive donors, and ministry partners.

This role has the strong potential to require supervision of direct reports, as strategic objectives evolve.

Specific responsibilities within the above areas include:

Strategic Planning & Training:

  • In collaboration with the VP Ministry Advancement and the Ministry Advancement Coordinator, play a key role in designing and implementing the strategic planning process with the National Leadership Team, and the broader BLC staff.
  • Drive strategic implementation, execution and success, utilizing data insights and external consultants.
  • Track and evaluate the progression of the operating plan and provide support and training for staff.
  • Actively participate as a member of Bible League Canada’s National Leadership Team, by engaging in meetings, associated action items and responsibilities to collaboratively drive the implementation of the Executive Team, VP Ministry Advancement, and National Leadership Teams’ vision.

Collaboration with Ministry Advancement:

  • Regularly interact with the Research & Analytics Team for data and insight.
  • Regularly interact with the Marketing & Development Teams to ensure alignment of fundraising strategies and messaging.
  • Provide facilitative leadership for the Managers Team & Ministry Advancement leaders.

Partnership Development:

Work cross-collaboratively with the different teams at Bible League Canada and external stakeholders to identify, develop and establish strong and sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships with:

  • Key stakeholders and other likeminded ministries
  • Churches
  • Genesis Initiative partners
  • potential humanitarian/disaster relief organizations

Education:

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, or credentialed in a related field.

Experience Needed:

  • A skilled leader, with enthusiasm for collaboration, adept at communicating changes and progress.
  • A creative, innovative thinker, with the ability to think strategically and implement complex programs within culturally varied settings.
  • Proven track record of planning, developing and implementing strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience with project and time management.
  • Experience with program & staff supervision is required.
  • Experience in a not-for-profit organization preferred but not essential.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced PowerPoint, Teams, Excel skills.
  • Intermediate/Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to see the “big picture.”
  • Experience with Salesforce (customer service management) & Asana (project management) software is an asset.
  • Proficient in Internet research and search engine skills.

Interpersonal Skills and Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent inter-personal skills; a dedicated team player who enjoys working with others in team settings to solve problems and who has a proven ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff, management and stakeholders.
  • Reliable, with the ability to take the initiative, problem-solve and implement solutions.

Required Commitment:

  • Follower of Jesus Christ who wholeheartedly subscribes to the Bible League Canada’s faith and lifestyle policy documents.
  • Knowledge of and a passion for Bible League Canada and its work, with a love for Bible-based ministry.
  • In fulfilling your responsibilities, you will be required to participate in chapel and pray for and minister to staff and people who contact Bible League Canada either in person, or by phone or other electronic communication. These ministry and prayer opportunities include but are not limited to weekly chapel and devotions, meetings, general inquiries, and conferences and events.
