Position Description

As part of the OMF Canada Community Engagement Team, the Atlantic Team Lead coordinates OMF’s mobilization work in Atlantic Canada (NB, NS, PEI and NL). 

In this role, you and your team will encourage, partner with and inspire the Atlantic Region church to be actively engaged in Jesus’ Great Commission among East Asia’s peoples. 

Job Description

The Atlantic Team Lead contributes to OMF Canada’s vision of seeing the Canadian Church passionately engaged in East Asian biblical church movements by 

  • coordinating the work of engaging the Christian community for missions involvement in the “Six Ways to Reach God’s World”: Going, Praying, Sending, Learning, Welcoming and Mobilizing. 
  • forming relationships and coming alongside inquirers as they discern God’s calling and consider long- and short-term service.
  • building and ensuring the well-functioning of the regional team and others connected with OMF work in the Atlantic Region.

Responsibilities

  • Represent OMF throughout Atlantic Canada, promoting our work in churches, schools, colleges and universities, educating people about OMF and missions in general.
  • Represent OMF through mission conferences and events, speaking engagements, workshops, and seminars.
  • Coordinate the planning, promotion and staging of OMF events.
  • Mobilize workers and volunteers for missions involvement in East Asia and Canada.
  • Build relationships and partnerships that facilitate missional involvement and discipleship.

Guide the work of the Atlantic Region ministry team, including volunteers.

Living Situations

  • Atlantic Canada resident holding Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Willing to travel within the Atlantic Region.
  • Candidates apply to serve with OMF in a suitable category of relationship (a “way of belonging” that provides a helpful and flexible pathway to service).
  • The approved candidate needs to raise prayer and financial support.
