Position Description

Overview

Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada is seeking a dedicated and skilled Head Cook at Alberta Pioneer Camp which encompasses both Pioneer Lodge in Sundre and Pioneer Ranch in Rocky Mountain House. The ideal candidate will align with our mission, values, and strategic priorities, ensuring our food service facilities operate efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with all relevant standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day food service operations for guest groups and camps, including food ordering, cooking, serving, and kitchen preparation.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety within the kitchen environment.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA (Alberta Camping Association), CCI (Christian Camping International), and health and safety regulations, as well as local, provincial, and federal standards.
  • Manage all aspects of food service operations throughout the year, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the year-round Alberta Pioneer Camp team to support various camp initiatives and activities as needed.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a camp or institutional setting.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada. As such, applicants applying should display evidence of a mature, Christian faith.
