Position Description
Overview:
Bothwell Christian Fellowship (BCF), a congregation of around 150 members is seeking a dedicated and spiritually grounded pastor (1 Timothy 3:1-7) to provide leadership and oversee the church’s ministries. This role involves preaching, teaching, pastoral care, discipleship, and administrative responsibilities to guide the congregation in their faith journey and serve the community of New Bothwell. The lead pastor will play a key role in shaping the vision of the church and ensuring its spiritual vitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pulpit Ministry
- Preach and teach the Word of God with strong biblical knowledge, applying scriptural truths to everyday life.
- Focus on a combination of expository and topical preaching, with an emphasis on delivering relatable, challenging, and thought-provoking messages.
- Discipleship and Mentorship
- Engage in intentional disciple-making and mentorship, helping individuals grow in their faith.
- Encourage spiritual growth and development within the congregation, especially through personal relationships and community engagement.
- Visionary Leadership
- Collaborate with the church leadership team to cast and cultivate vision for the future of BCF.
- Develop strategies for outreach, evangelism, and leadership development to grow and strengthen the church body.
- Pastoral Care and Community Engagement
- Be approachable and personable, demonstrating a love for people across all generations.
- Serve as a pastoral presence in the church and the community of New Bothwell, connecting with congregants and engaging with the broader community.
- Administrative and Leadership Responsibilities
- Work alongside the church’s leadership team to ensure effective administration and management of church ministries.
- Continue personal and professional growth through education and ministry training, encouraging the ministerial team to do the same.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of pastoral experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in biblical studies is preferred; a master’s degree or equivalent experience is an asset.
- Strong biblical teaching and leadership abilities.
- A heart for mentorship, discipleship, and fostering relationships within the congregation and community.
- Passionate about prayer-driven leadership.
