Position Description
Forest Fritter Friends is a registered not for profit bakery and training centre. We provide a training environment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop professional and personal skills. During our six month program, our Team Members learn employment skills, life skills, and plan their career goals. Our bakery is open to the public Wednesday to Saturday, giving our Team Members authentic application opportunities.
The Forest Fritter Friends Training Centre is seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as the Program Coordinator. As the Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the Forest Fritter Friends training program. This position offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the lives of individuals with disabilities by fostering their professional and personal development.

Job Description:
As the Program Coordinator you will…
- Continue the development and implementation of the Forest Fritter Friends Training Modules; creating new learning opportunities that help our participants build new skills.
- Provide hands-on training and support for our Team Members in the daily operation of the bakery.
- Develop a comprehensive training and development strategy for each Team Member that is customized and aligned to their needs, abilities and goals.
- Document and provide reports on the progress and opportunities for each participant. Communicate regularly with the Team Member’s Parents/Guardians as well as the Forest Fritter Friends Board about Team Members progress and program updates .
- Teach and mentor each Team Member through positive/constructive support and guidance
- Create effective strategies to support participants' employment journeys.
- Work alongside the Product Manager to ensure the bakery is running smoothly.

Requirements:
- Background in teaching, training, leading, and/or coaching others (specifically adults with special needs)
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and think creatively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for meeting and engaging with diverse individuals.
- Patience and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Current, clear criminal record check for the vulnerable sector (or the ability to obtain a current, clear criminal record check before beginning work)
Assets:
- Education in the field of Disability Studies or Developmental Services
- Previous experience with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Previous leadership experience
- Experience in job coaching, interviewing, resume and cover letter creation
