Position Description

Full-time position working remotely and based in Manitoba.

Are you interested in joining our team in this exciting and re-energized adventure providing people with access to God’s Word?  The Canadian Bible Society (CBS) is looking for a dedicated full-time, Regional Manager (RM) who will be part of the Programs team working under the leadership of the Regional Director (RD) specifically on CBS programs within their designated regions. They will be responsible to establish and improve partnerships including with churches, communities, donors and others.

The Regional Manager position requires up to 30% travel across Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities:

CBS is looking for an individual who will work on the following objectives:

  • In collaboration with the RD, execute a regional strategy and plan to grow and nurture CBS partnerships through existing and new programs in their regions;
  • Develop and grow new partnerships with chapters and churches, and all other relevant partners and stakeholders.
  • As required for program implementation, recruit, support, and manage volunteers in alignment with CBS objectives and policies.
  • Ensure up to date, complete, and accurate information in the CRM database.
  • Ensure the achievement of approved program goals and strong budget management.
  • Facilitate and encourage partners to provide high quality stories and pictures on program impact.
  • Ensuring CBS receives customer survey feedback and compile the required reports for analysis.
  • In close collaboration with the development team and the RD, assist in connecting with current, and potential new and emerging churches, individuals, and relevant donor organizations, and assist in organizing local fundraising activities.
  • Developing with the RD a communication strategy with partners, chapters, and other stakeholders, working with the Marketing team to use tools such as Mail Chimp to execute the strategy.
  • Support the Scripture Resources team to ensure the appropriate balance and policy compliance between sales and free distribution of Bibles and Scripture resources.

Requirements:

  • College or university degree in non-profit management or business administration preferred.
  • Resides in Manitoba and is willing to travel including outside of province up to 30%. The travel will be for in-person partner visits, for participation in CBS and partner events and meetings, and to implement and oversee program activities.
  • Be available for occasional work on weekends and evenings, including attending church services at partner churches. 
  • A demonstrated track record of success in relevant roles including partnering and networking with churches and/or Christian organizations, coordinating and motivating volunteers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of their region, preferably with an existing diverse network already in place that can be leveraged to connect with people.
  • An understanding of, and empathy with, the challenges of local churches and parishes across all denominations.
  • Experience in program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting, and using a CRM database.
  • Self-confident while still being humble and authentic.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, proactive and determined.
  • Resilient, ability to not let adverse conditions negatively impact performance.
  • Promotes culture of integrity, values driven.
