Freedom in Christ Church (FCC) of the Christian and Missionary Alliance is a God-centered, Holy Spirit-led Filipino-ethnic church with presence in Mississauga over 18+ years with a welcoming culture. The congregation, with an average age of 40, includes diverse family compositions such as young adults, families, widows, and those who are separated or divorced.

FCC emphasizes bible study groups, discipleship, evangelism, preaching and worship as pathways for spiritual growth and maturity into a deeper relationship with Christ for both families and individuals.

The church thrives through small groups, mission projects, and active ministries, including Praise and Worship, Men, Women, Youth, Young Adults, and Children’s Ministries to grow generations of spiritually mature and ministry engaged community of believers.  FCC also engages in community outreach, supports international missions, and is self-sustaining through donations that directly fund ministries and charitable efforts.

FCC operates under a plurality of Elders leadership model and has navigated leadership transitions effectively, demonstrating flexibility and resilience. Worship style is blended but predominantly contemporary, with a focus on the Great Commission. However, the church faces challenges such as declining local population, limited lay leaders, and a need for deeper engagement in discipleship and outreach.

Pastor Part Time Profile Summary

FCC seeks a pastor who exemplifies spiritual maturity, prayerfulness, and humility.

Responsibilities:

• Work cooperatively with the Elders and collaboratively with ministry leadership without elevating themselves above the congregation.
• Be a visionary leader who inspires faith development, especially among younger Christians.
• Shepherd the flock through preaching, visitations, bible studies, outreach, and mentoring.
• Pastoral care for members of the fellowship in need of spiritual, physical, emotional, or biblical counseling and/or guidance.
• Foster intergenerational relationships and promote growth through discipleship and small groups.
• Exhibit an interactive, person-centered approach, balancing teaching, preaching, and mentoring.
• Provide leadership in growth ministries, including evangelism, outreach, expansion of membership, encouragement of lay leaders, and active participation in the ministry.

Qualifications:

• Preferably licensed and ordained for ministry in the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada or will successfully complete the licensing process with Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada as a part of the application process.
• Affirms the mission, vision, statement of faith, governance, and distinctiveness of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada and Freedom in Christ Church Constitution and By-Laws.
• Theological education from an accredited institution.
• Previous pastoral leadership experience is an asset.
