THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opening on our team for a person who has a passion for sharing the love of God with others by helping them to know who Jesus Christ is and His message of salvation and hope for the world – what we believe to be the Good News of Jesus Christ. To be successful in this role, you will need skills and experience that enable you to lead and motivate a team to effectively expand the reach and impact of ShareWord Global in Africa and South Asia. Reporting to the Director of Ministry for Africa & South Asia, you will be required to implement our strategic plan and monitor our impact and effectiveness in the various countries we operate within this region of the world. POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Ministry Manager for Africa & South Asia.
Reporting to: Director of Ministry for Africa & South Asia
Term: Full time
Head office location: Guelph, Ontario
Position location: open to hybrid/remote candidates
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Directors and Managers to develop operational plans to execute SWG’s Strategic Plan in Africa & South Asia.
- Oversee in-country contractors, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and information to effectively advance the mission of SWG. Hire new Contractors as required.
- Conduct regular trips to Africa & South Asia, as requested by the Ministry Director, to audit ministry work, ensure responsible stewardship of resources, and train in-country contractors, facilitators, and churches on both existing and new ministry initiatives.
- Monitor long-term and annual budgets for the operations within each country in the region
- Report on ministry plans and projects as required.
- Create ministry reports to support Marketing, Communication, and Donor Development initiatives.
- Conduct quality control on impact stories from the region to effectively meet organizational needs.
- Oversee end-to-end logistics for the region, including procurement, shipping, storage, and Scripture distribution.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to develop a social media strategy for the region and assist with its management and execution.
- Support the Communication and Development teams in creating impactful collateral, such as reports and videos, to help raise donation revenue.
- Liaison with the Manager of Ministry Coordinators as required to meet deadlines and needed quality of reports, programs, activity plans etc. - understanding what is needed to manage work-flow etc.
- Represent the organization and provide leadership on international ministry trips, as directed by the Directors of Ministry, across various contexts and for diverse purposes. This could include travel to other regions of the world as required to support the global work of SWG.
- Collaborate with Ministry Directors and Manager of Ministry Coordinators to model Gospel Outreach (GO) trips in alignment with the global strategy.
- Actively promote GO trip opportunities, recruiting members and partners to support the GO Team Strategy.
- Implement marketing plans to ensure every GO Trip is fully resourced with participants and resources.
- Assist in developing strategy and processes to identify, train, and maintain a database of qualified GO Team Trip Leaders.
- Support the training program for GO Team Trip Leaders.
- Coordinate with partner organizations to execute collaborative GO Team trip initiatives, including travel arrangements and trip logistics.
- Manage planning and execution of GO trips in collaboration with the GO Trip Ministry staff.
- Provide leadership on GO trips, as directed by the Director of Ministry.
- Manage and monitor the GO Trip Schedule
- Engage actively in the Organizations regular meetings, devotions, training sessions and other meetings as required
- Support Human Resources and effectively provide feedback and performance reviews for all team members managed, including contractors in international countries.
- Effectively engage with all administrative tasks and responsibilities associated with this role

- Possesses the necessary written and verbal communication skills to dynamically articulate the vision of the organization as well as motivate and inspire others to participate
- Possesses the necessary skills to maintain accountabilities, process information, make decisions, organize workload, resolve conflicts, delegate responsibilities, and solve problems
- Comfortable and willing to travel to fulfill job responsibilities and support the organization's mission
ASSETS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent completed post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of success
- Experience working with a variety of cultures is preferred
- Knowledge of Christian ministry or non-profit sector is essential
- Self-starter and able to work independently with a minimum level of supervision
- Personable, organized and able to multi-task
- Experience in writing reports and story writing is ideal
- Experience in developing and implementation of plans, programs and projects
- Committed Christian actively involved in a local church
- Willingness to speak publicly and to groups of people
