OVERVIEW
Overseeing St.Paul’s Kids Ministries (Birth-Grade Five), the Children’s Pastor will be
responsible for the leadership of our children’s ministries, leading all related functional areas in the accomplishment of the church’s mission and vision. This includes helping with service planning, mobilizing and developing leaders, and organizing events, camps, programs, and outreach activities. This position offers potential for growth and increased hours based on leadership capacity.
MINISTRY AND PURPOSE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Lead Pastor, the Children’s Pastor will be responsible for building a solid Kids ministry with the vision of creating environments where our children can personally encounter Jesus during this critical stage of life, where they are loved and valued and become all God has made them to be.
The Children’s Pastor will also equip parents to be the number one spiritual influence in their children’s lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Children’s Pastor will develop and execute a ministry strategy that aligns with our church’s vision for discipleship and outreach.
- The Children’s Pastor will be responsible for recruiting, training, and providing ongoing oversight for all the leaders and those who serve in St. Paul’s Kids.
- The Children’s Pastor will work alongside the Pastoral Staff in serving as a general pastoral leader within our church community and be available to help with projects as assigned by the lead pastor.
- The Children’s Pastor will help equip parents with resources to disciple their child(ren).
REQUIRED SKILL SETS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A servant leader with an active relationship with Jesus
- Spiritual maturity, character, and lifestyle in accordance with ministry leadership
- Full alignment with the mission, vision, and values of St.Paul’s
- A calling to work within a church context, with a ministry mindset
- An active participant in St.Paul’s church life
- Experience in working with children and parents in a church setting.
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across multiple teams.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Previous ministry experience in related areas preferred
- A Bible College degree is preferred
- Willing to pursue credentials
COMPETENCIES
- Strong verbal/written communication skills
- Strong leadership skills, relating to vision and strategy
- Ability to build and lead a volunteer team
- Ability to Preach/Teach
- Problem-solving skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
This position is a 15-hour/week position.
