Position Description

Hallelujah Chinese Evangelical Free Church is a Cantonese-speaking congregation with about 150 active congregants.  We are located in a vibrant neighborhood of Scarborough in the city of Toronto, Ontario.  We are part of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada, and church governance is by nature congregationalism.

We are calling a Lead Pastor who is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and has integrity, a strong commitment to the Lord and to the church.  Our future pastor has the passion to expound God’s word, to develop lay leadership and to turn strategic planning into reality.  We desire our pastor to have ministry experience with people who are middle-aged to young seniors.

The pastor will shepherd the church by:

1. Modeling the grace and love of God
2. Proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching
3. Engaging in pastoral care ministries
4. Providing overall leadership to the church

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate integrity and grace in speech and in deed
2. Expound the Word of God according to expositional preaching principles
3. Extend pastoral care and pastoral counselling as needed
4. Assist the congregation in discovering and developing their spiritual gifts
5. Mentor potential leaders to deepen their biblical knowledge and skills to serve in various capacities
6. Assist in placing lay leaders in suitable ministry roles
7. Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, Deacon Board and lay leaders to formulate strategic plans, including short-term and long-term goals
8. Provide leadership to pastoral team and mentorship to its members
9. Provide insight, support and guidance for different church departments or committees

Qualifications:

1. Agree with and subscribe to EFCC’s Core Beliefs including (i) the Statement of Faith, (ii) Our Character and Calling, and (iii) Other statements as established from time to time.  Able to affirm the EFCC Covenant of Personal and Professional Ethics unreservedly.
2. M. Div or higher in an ATS-accredited seminary.
3. At least 5 years of pastoral experience and be willing to pass the EFCC Ministerial Accreditation process within 5 years of assuming office.
4. Fluency in spoken Cantonese and proficiency in written Chinese and English; Mandarin is an asset but not a requirement.
5. Strong preaching, mentoring, and leadership skills, yet embrace a shared vision with church leadership.
6. Ability to think strategically, being resourceful and innovative in ministry plans.
7. Enthusiastic, friendly, approachable, tactful and easygoing.
8. Self-starter, trainer and a team builder.

誠 聘 粵 語 領 導 牧 者

頌主播道會是一間約有150信徒經常出席的粵語堂會，位於加拿大安大略省多倫多市一個滿有活力的仕嘉堡社區。我們隸屬於加拿大播道聯會 (Evangelical Free Church of Canada)，並採用會眾制治理教會。

我們正在尋找一位跟隨耶穌基督的領導牧者，具備誠信，對上帝和教會有堅定的委身。我們未來的牧者需要有傳講神話語的熱切，用心培育平信徒領袖，並能將策略計劃付諸實行。我們希望牧者具備經驗協助教會發展中年和年輕長者的事工。

牧者透過以下方式牧養教會：

職責：

1. 在言語和行為上展現誠信和恩慈
2. 按照解經式講道原則講解神的話語
3. 提供適時牧養關懷和輔導
4. 協助會眾發掘及展現屬靈恩賜
5. 培育具領䄂潛質的平信徒，加深他們的聖經知識和事奉技巧
6. 協助安排平信徒領袖到合適的事工崗位
7. 與牧者團隊、執事會和平信徒領袖協作，制定包括短期和長期目標的策略計劃
8. 領導牧者團隊及對其成員作出指導
9. 為教會不同部門或委員會提供見解、支援和指導

資格要求：

1. 同意並接納加拿大播道聯會的 (i)《信仰宣言》，(ii) 《我們的特色與召命》，以及 (iii) 其他不時制定的相關聲明;能毫無保留地確認並遵守加拿大播道聯會的《個人與專業操守契約》。
2. 擁有由美國神學院協會 (ATS) 認可的神學院道學碩士(M. Div)或更高學位。
3. 五年以上的牧會經驗，並願意在履職後五年內通過加拿大播道聯會的牧職認證過程。
4. 能操流利粵語及具良好中、英文書寫能力；會普通話者是可取的，但非必需。
5. 踏實的講道、指導與領導能力，並能與教會領袖共同實現共享的異象。
6. 能夠運用策略性思考，並在事工計劃中富有創意及具資源運用能力。
7. 熱情、友善、平易近人，並具備機智及隨和的特質。
8. 做事積極主動，善於教導及建立團隊。
