Job Overview:
The Fundraising and Donor Engagement Manager will play a critical role in NLC’s mission by developing and nurturing strategic relationships with major donors, overseeing corporate sponsorship programs, and managing fundraising events. The position will also assist with various organizational duties related to donor stewardship and event logistics. The ideal candidate will bring passion for our mission, a strong understanding of donor engagement, and event coordination expertise.
Salary: $36,000 commensurate with experience and training, bonuses based on performance.
Donor Engagement and Fundraising:
- Adopt and incorporate a "moves management" approach into all aspects of donor relations and development. This means managing each donor's relationship through a series of strategic "moves" or actions that guide them from initial engagement to deeper involvement, ensuring timely and meaningful contact at every stage. These "moves" should be personalized and tailored to each donor’s interests and history with the organization, with the goal of increasing engagement and financial support.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a major, middle and legacy donor strategy for NLC.
- Manage the initial response to new major donors, ensuring timely and meaningful contact.
- Promote the work and impact of NLC with donors and potential donors through presentations and speaking engagements, as appropriate.
- Represent the organization at events and in the community as necessary.
- With integrity and confidentiality, manage and track all donor contacts through the E-Kyros database, ensuring that records are up-to-date and accurate.
Corporate Sponsorship Program:
- Develop a corporate sponsorship prospect list and create tailored sponsorship proposals.
- Sell sponsorship's and secure items for silent auctions, documenting all details of sponsorship sales.
- Coordinate with the Communications Coordinator to ensure appropriate marketing materials are created for sponsorship's and events.
Event Coordination and Logistics (1 day per week)
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and execution of all fundraising and engagement events.
- Provide the Communications Coordinator with the necessary event details to develop event-related collaterals, including external communications, printed materials, registration pages, signage, etc.
- Promote NLC’s signature events (such as the annual banquet, BBQ, and Walk-Run) to community partners, churches, donors, and other potential supporters through relationship-building and personal outreach.
- Lead the execution of NLC's signature events, including preparation, setup, execution, and tear-down.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of events, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Support third-party fundraisers in line with NLC’s third-party fundraising guidelines.
Other Duties:
- Maintain a high level of integrity and reflect Christian respect and Christ’s unconditional love to all colleagues, supporters, volunteers, and clients.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of experience in donor engagement and a track record of developing successful strategies and achieving fundraising goals.
- Strong background in event coordination and logistics, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience with DRM or CRM platforms is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of donors and stakeholders.
- A passion for Christian ministry and NLC’s mission to offer Help, Hope, and Healing to those in need.
- High degree of professionalism and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
