Position Description

BFM Foundation (Canada) is a national organization with over 50 Mission Thrift Stores across Canada. The net revenue from all Mission Thrift Stores is devoted to the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada. These funds are used to establish adult literacy programs, provide church planter training, children’s ministry programs, and distribute Bibles in many places around the world. The stores are operated primarily by dedicated volunteers.

Mission Thrift Store Duncan is currently seeking a full-time Receiver who understands and supports the vision and purpose of BFM Foundation (Canada).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Experience working with Volunteers
• Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
• Ability to lift and bend to carry goods and furniture
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Professionalism and respect
• Displays a high level of trustworthiness and integrity

Primary Activities:

• Accept and sort donations received from the public
• Memorize product locations throughout the store.
• Ensure that the receiving and production area is clean, clear and meets safety standards.
• Resolve any donor issues or concerns that may arise while ensuring donor satisfaction.
• Daily Cleaning. Ex. Ensure the sales floor is clean, and that aisles are clear and meet AODA standards
• Restocking supplies.
• Other duties as required

Experience: Labour and warehouse experience in a retail setting; experience with non-profit/voluntary sector would be considered an asset.

Working Conditions: The Receiver will be working in a labour position in the warehouse; both indoors and outdoors.  May require some Saturday work hours.

Salary Expectations: This is a full-time permanent salary position with compensation that is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
