Position Description
BFM Foundation (Canada) is a national organization with over 50 Mission Thrift Stores across Canada. The net revenue from all Mission Thrift Stores is devoted to the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada. These funds are used to establish adult literacy programs, provide church planter training, children’s ministry programs, and distribute Bibles in many places around the world. The stores are operated primarily by dedicated volunteers.
Mission Thrift Store Duncan is currently seeking a full-time Store Supervisor who understands and supports the vision and purpose of BFM Foundation (Canada).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Activities:
- Opening & closing the store
- Cash preparation & handling
- Customer engagement and service
- Production: Donations to Retail Merchandising
- have an excellent understanding of the volume of donations,
- Track department stock, distribution and production
- product distribution to departments
- preparation for sale, evaluation and merchandising
- Knowledge of KPIs and assist management with meeting or exceeding those goals
Secondary Activities: as experience and investment increases
- Volunteer training, coaching and support
- Assist manager with administration duties
- Lead Team Huddles, devotions and other staff/volunteer meetings
- Attend events such as AGM, Volunteer Dinners etc.
- Assist manager with on-going store evaluations

- Computer skills including the ability to operate spreadsheet and word processing programs
- Time management skills
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical labour

Experience
The following experience is considered an asset:
- Customer Service experience
- Thrift or Retail and warehouse experience
- Cashier / Cash Handling experience
- Standard First Aid (recommended)
- Experience working with Volunteers
Knowledge and Development
The Store Supervisor must develop proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Knowledge of store policies and procedures
- WHMIS
- Product Identification and evaluation
