Full Time (25-30 clinical hours plus administrative hours)

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree
  • Minimum 3 years (preferred) experience working in a clinical setting with a primary focus on children and their families
  • Registration and maintenance of registration with CRPO or OCSWSSW
  • Minimum of $2 million-dollar liability insurance
  • Understanding or training of theoretical approaches in some or most of the following: Play Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Circle of Security, Theraplay, Sandtray Therapy (Willing to be trained)
  • EMDR Basic Training completed (preferred or willing to participate in training)

Our Practice and Team

Tina J Smith & Associates Counselling and Psychotherapy was established in 2011 by Tina Smith. Our Christian Registered Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Social Workers serve Christian and non-Christian clients in Woodstock, On and surrounding areas, and Saskatoon, SK. Through an integrative approach between clinical, evidence-based approaches and biblical truth, we strive to get to the root system of trauma to help our clients fully renew and heal. As an employee with TJS and Selah, our not-for-profit charitable arm, you will receive the benefit of being employed – not sub-contracted – where all hours worked are insurable through EI, provided group supervision and EMDR Consultation, a fully prepped and individual child-therapy office, marketing and third-party relationships, intake and administrative coordinators, and access to our electronic software, Jane.

Benefits

Trained or willing to participate in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as this practice works with core wounds that occurred during developmental stages about attachment wounds, historical and present-day traumas that can only be effectively accessed through somatic/sensory and emotional state forms of treatments.

  • The owner pays 50% of the EMDR training for one year after showing the use of the modality.  
  • EMDR Consultation is provided by Tina Smith (Director/Owner) at no cost.
  • Flexible working hours to balance work and family.
  • CPP and Employment Insurance contributions  
  • 4% Vacation Pay Earned
  • 6% Vacation Pay Earned after working five years.
  • Employee commission-based position where associate’s salary is 50% of hourly rate charged to clients, but increases to 60% after employed for five years.
  • Daytime hours and at least two evenings per week (Saturdays are your consideration).
  • A full-time associate is expected to work towards a minimum of 25-27 hours of direct counselling/psychotherapy hours per week (larger caseloads can be discussed).
  • The work schedule is flexible and discussed in partnership with the director.
  • You can set your schedule around family responsibilities in collaboration with the Director. 

Job Type: Full-time, commission, permanent
Salary: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year (Depends on Client Caseload)

  • Effectively and relationally provide counselling services within the standards and code of ethics provided by CRPO/OCSWSSW
  • Effectively be a team player within the workplace within the standards and code of ethics provided by CRPO/OCSWSSW
  • Is willing to continue their learning and professional development in the field
  • Willing to participate in team experiences
  • Have excellent interpersonal and relational skills
  • Fluently speak, read, and write in English – additional languages are not required, but a bonus
  • Navigate with ease software such as Word, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Record clear and effective notes post-clinical sessions
  • Provide a Police and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Access External Clinical Supervision
