Position Description
Position Summary:
Wallenstein Bible Chapel (WBC) is a growing church of about 800 people with two Sunday morning services. We are seeking an experienced individual (male) to serve as an Associate Pastor to fill some of the gaps in our current ministries. This role will focus on providing leadership and ministry support in select ministry areas from the list below.
Current Primary Ministry Needs at WBC:
(Final responsibilities will be dependent on gifting and experience of the chosen candidate.)
- Local Outreach: Develop and oversee outreach initiatives in the local community
- Young Adults: Provide leadership, mentorship, and discipleship for the young adults in our congregation.
- Families/Parenting: Support and equip families and parents through teaching and resources.
- Small Groups: Facilitate the growth and health of the WBC small group ministry
Some secondary ministry needs at Wallenstein Bible Chapel include:
- Worship Leading
- Youth Ministry
- Global Missions
Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- 5-10 years of church ministry experience preferred.
- Seminary education or equivalent theological training preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to balance multiple ministry responsibilities effectively.
- Familiarity with and comfort in rural Canadian culture.
- Character and Personal Qualities:
- An active faith in Christ, aligned with the church’s beliefs and mission.
- A deep commitment to Biblical values in both philosophy and practice of ministry.
- A love for people and a shepherd’s heart.
- A strong team player with a servant-hearted approach to leadership.
- Other requirements
- The role requires affirmation of the "WBC Family Commitment" as well as "Plan to Protect" qualification (for working with vulnerable individuals).
Working Conditions:
- Full-time pastoral position with evening and weekend responsibilities.
- Reports to the Co-Lead Pastoral Team.
About Wallenstein Bible Chapel:
Wallenstein Bible Chapel is a non-denominational church with roots in the brethren tradition. The church is led by a team of elders, with two of those elders serving as full-time pastors who provide oversight over the day-to-day operations. Located just west of Elmira, WBC draws most of its congregation from Elmira and the surrounding rural areas north and west of Kitchener/Waterloo.
