Position Description
The Human Resources Manager works with the Director of Personnel in strategizing to maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices to serve the mission of OMF Canada.

Required Knowledge, Character and Skills
Know:
- God and his Word as revealed in the Scriptures, including the biblical mandate for mission
- General knowledge of world missions
- The Canadian context, particularly the Canadian church and charities
- OMF’s vision, mission, core values and beliefs
- General knowledge of OMF’s work in East Asia and Canada
- Principles of good Human Resources Management
- Canadian Labour Laws

- A proven HR Manager or similar role
Do:
- Research HR and wellness trends
- Manage the hiring and termination process
- Develop HR policies and handbook
- Review employment contracts and compensation
- Equip and train staff
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Develop and implement a Human Resources strategy for the organization
- Ensure employment contracts are comprehensive and updated
- Create recruitment campaigns to attract applicants
- Manage the hiring process
- Maintain and develop compensation and benefits package of employees
- Develop an on-boarding program for new staff
- Manage employee relations and conflict management
- Ensure appropriate performance appraisals are carried out
- Ensure that employees are properly resourced to carry out their roles
- Create and communicate HR policies that are legislatively compliant
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
- Develop an employee HR manual
- Review organization design and structure
- Perform job analyses and create job descriptions
- Manage employee terminations and exit interviews well

- Participate in crisis committees and responses
Living Situations
- Must reside in or plan to reside in Canada as a Canadian citizen
- Flexibility, a desire to work with a Canada-wide team and willingness to communicate remotely through Microsoft Teams and email
- This is a support-raising role that requires becoming an OMF member and developing a team of prayer and financial partners. We offer varied and creative paths to membership and provide training to help you develop your support base. God has provided for our workers for more than 150 years, and he continues to provide today.

Preference will be given to those who can be available at the National office as needed, though remote work is a possibility.
