Overview:

Paris Community Church is experiencing exciting growth! Since September, we've welcomed over 80 first-time guests, and our Sunday morning attendance has grown by 35 people. We’re grateful for this increase and excited about the opportunity to create an even more welcoming environment. Our First Impressions team has done an outstanding job in greeting and hosting, but we recognize the need for a more coordinated, intentional approach to ensure every guest is integrated into the life of the church.

We want every newcomer to feel truly seen, valued, and invited into our community from the moment they step through our doors. That’s why we’re seeking a passionate and proactive Connections Leader to build and lead a new ministry focused on connecting guests with our church family and helping them take the next steps in their spiritual journey.

Our Vision:

The Connections Leader will lead efforts to make every newcomer feel welcomed and engaged with our church family. By building personal relationships and providing clear next steps, this role will help guests move from first-time visitors to active participants in the life of the church. You will create a culture of warmth and intentional connection, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks as they explore what it means to be part of Paris Community Church.

Responsibilities:

Build & Lead the Connections Ministry:

• Recruit, equip, and empower a team of volunteers passionate about making guests feel welcome.
• Ensure each guest is greeted warmly and guided to resources that will help them feel at home.
• Create a team culture of relationship-building, ensuring every newcomer is seen and valued.

Create Meaningful Engagements:

• Foster authentic, one-on-one conversations with guests to connect them with the right people and opportunities at the church.
• Collect contact information (with permission) and guide guests to the "New Here" kiosk for follow-up.
• Connect families with children to our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Barb, and ensure their needs are met.

Track, Follow-Up & Improve:

• Develop a system within Planning Centre for tracking first-time guests, ensuring they are followed up with in a timely and personal manner.
• Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the Connections Ministry, problem-solve, and adjust approaches to better serve our guests.

Foster Long-Term Relationships:

• Actively help guests build relationships within the church community by introducing them to others and remembering their names.
• Invite guests to explore how they can engage more deeply with the church, whether through small groups, ministry teams, or events.

Position Details:

Job Title: Connections Leader
Hours: Part-time, 15 hours/week
Compensation: $25/hour (negotiable)

Work Location: Flexibility to work both online and in-person; key in-person components include Sunday mornings, mid-week meetings, and staff meetings at the church office.

Start Date: March 2025

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for someone who is deeply passionate about welcoming others and creating a relational culture within the church.   Who attends Sunday services and takes an active role as part of our church community.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a heart for connecting with people and helping them feel at home.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be proactive, organized, and capable of building a team of dedicated volunteers.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of and passion for the mission of Paris Community Church.
• Have experience in ministry or similar leadership roles (preferred, but not required).

In addition to the Connections Leader role, Paris Community Church is also hiring a part-time Youth Minister  to lead our high school students.
