About Paris Community Church

At Paris Community Church, we are a vibrant, growing community of Jesus followers, dedicated to coming together in worship so that we can go out and impact the world. Our vision is to lead people to Jesus, empowering them to experience life transformation and make a lasting difference in our community. Nestled in the heart of Paris, Ontario, we are a warm, welcoming church for all people—no matter their age, background, or stage of faith. We invite you to explore our mission and culture at www.forparis.ca or visit us on a Sunday to experience it for yourself.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Youth Minister  to lead, inspire, and invest in the spiritual growth of our high school students (including grade 8).   This part-time role is central to fostering a vibrant, relational, and discipleship-driven youth ministry. As a key member of our ministry team, you will have the opportunity to develop creative programming, build lasting relationships, and guide young people in their walk with Jesus.

Reporting directly to our Lead Pastor, Joel Sherbino, this position offers the chance to shape the next generation of leaders and disciples. The role is 20 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to the needs of the ministry and students. You will also play a vital role in connecting our youth with one another, their families, and the larger community of Paris.

Key Responsibilities

Spiritual Growth & Discipleship:

  • Build deep, meaningful relationships with youth to create a safe, supportive environment for spiritual development.
  • Design and implement dynamic programming that helps students grow in their faith and leadership.
  • Lead high school youth meetings, Bible studies and/or events, delivering relevant and engaging content.
  • Create pathways for youth to become active participants in their spiritual journey, and challenge them to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
  • Help integrate our youth into other aspects of the Church Community

Volunteer Leadership & Community Building:

  • Recruit, equip, and mentor volunteers who are passionate about investing in the lives of youth.
  • Foster a strong, supportive volunteer culture where relationships thrive and ministry happens collaboratively.
  • Cultivate a mentorship environment where older students and adults learn to mentor and disciple younger youth.

Strategic Vision:

  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor to develop a long-term strategy for engaging and growing our youth ministry.
  • Help design and implement events that deepen relationships and reach new youth.
  • (Optional) As the ministry grows, the role may expand to include work with young adults.

Administration & Communication:

  • Plan the annual calendar for youth ministry events and activities.
  • Communicate regularly with students and parents to keep everyone informed and engaged.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the ministry are running smoothly, from event coordination to follow-up.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a leader who is not only passionate about youth and their faith journey but also has the experience and heart to help them grow. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A strong and vibrant Christian faith that drives your ministry.
  • 1-2 years of experience in youth leadership—whether as a youth leader, camp counselor, or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A natural ability to build authentic, trusting relationships with youth, volunteers, and parents.
  • A collaborative spirit, willing to work closely with the Lead Pastor and others on the ministry team.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work independently.
  • A heart for serving the community and making a lasting impact on the lives of youth.

What We Offer

  • $20-$22/hour
  • Health and dental benefits
  • Flexible schedule to balance work and personal life
  • Paid time off to rest and recharge
  • The opportunity to make a profound impact in the lives of youth and the community

Bonus Opportunity:

In addition to the Youth Ministry Team  Lead  position, Paris Community Church is also hiring a part-time Connections Leader to lead efforts in welcoming and connecting newcomers to our church family. If you are a strong candidate for both roles, there may be an opportunity to combine them into a full-time position. This could be an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about both youth and community integration. Please reach out for more information!

If you’re passionate about seeing young people grow in their faith and develop into leaders for Christ, we’d love to hear from you! Join us in our mission to inspire, equip, and empower the next generation to live boldly for Jesus.  Send us your cover letter and resume to Joel@forparis.ca
