About Emmaus Formation Centre

Emmaus Formation Centre (EFC) was founded with a purpose of helping Christians and the Evangelical church to experience and bring about God’s transformative power of the gospel at an authentic, personal level, through the ministries of spiritual formation and spiritual direction. Emmaus Formation Centre is a virtual organization, incorporated in Canada with all programs offered online.

Emmaus Formation Centre celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024 and is poised to grow at all levels. Its founder and ED is at a place of retirement, and looking forward to her successor strategically shaping and impacting the church.

About the Executive Director

  1. As ED, you will report to the Board of Directors, which provides governance and strategic support to the ED and the organization.
  2. As a member of our Executive leadership, the Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for the visionary and strategic leadership of EFC, seeking to explore significant ways of expanding and strengthening impact.
  3. As a Christian leader, the ED will have an exemplary reputation in the Kingdom, both far and near.

Specifically, the ED will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and shaping all staff, consisting of education director, administrator, and book keeper
  • Overseeing the strategic onboarding , development, and offboarding of staff and volunteers
  • Ensuring all staff are engaged in the pursuit of spiritual formation
  • Oversee training programs: Spiritual Formation Certificate, Spiritual Direction Certificate, Advanced Spiritual Direction Certificate, Individual Supervision, Group Supervision, Group Spiritual Direction, and Continuing Education
  • Overseeing and ensuring the raising and stewardship of all needed funds
  • Overseeing all public communications and events.
  • Overseeing the development and application of policies and procedures

Job Structure:

  • This position is full-time and virtual
  • The salary for this position is determined on a scale, based education, training and experience in the areas of Christian Theology, Spiritual Formation, Spiritual Direction, and Leadership

EFC is looking for someone with:

  • A passion for spiritual growth and inner transformation for self and others with a desire to affect the church in these areas
  • A commitment to serve the local church in the areas of spiritual formation and spiritual direction.
  • A commitment for the EFC team to each work within their God-given giftedness.
  • A commitment to growing the organizational culture based on Biblical values such as justice, servant leadership, humility, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Strong administrative gifts, problem-solving skills.
  • A people centred, relational leadership approach
  • An ability to create the conditions for fundraising success (vision, strategy, communication and donor care)
  • Competency with financial management, including budgets, cash flow, income statements, balance statements, and statements of functional expenses.
  • A minimum of a graduate degree in Christian studies. Preference will be given to those with or in process of attaining a D.Min.
