Position Description
Jacqueline Street Alliance Church (JSAC) is a church plant ministry of West London Alliance Church (WLAC) and a New Venture of The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada. The church was planted in April 2022 in the Chelsea Green neighbourhood in London, Ontario, Canada.
About the Position
We are currently looking for a bi-vocational or full-time Church Plant Pastor who will shepherd the modestly sized (25-35 adults), but committed, congregation as we grow in our love of God together and shine a Gospel light into the community where we have been called. We desire to bring glory to God as He makes His name great in the community and the world.
To serve as the JSAC Church Plant Pastor, the man must be able to effectively carry out the responsibilities described in Scripture to serve as a leader and shepherd of the church. This leadership is to be characterized and exemplified daily by demonstrating the Biblical qualifications recorded in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1: 6-8.

Responsibilities
As a ministry of WLAC, the JSAC Church Plant Pastor will initially become a member of WLAC’s established and experienced ministry team. JSAC has a leadership team who will meet regularly with the Lead Pastor to oversee, administer, and serve the congregation. It is WLAC’s hope for JSAC to become a fully autonomous church plant.
Primary Duties: To minister to the congregation of JSAC.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pastoral Duties – 80%
- Leadership Responsibilities – Provide leadership in various ministry roles as assigned by WLAC’s Lead Pastor. Examples: life group leadership, worship team leadership, or men’s event leadership.
- Teaching/Preaching Responsibilities – Fulfill preaching and teaching opportunities at JSAC as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
- Discipleship Responsibilities – Fulfill discipling duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor. Examples: one-on-one discipling with emerging leaders, hospital visitations, or grief support.
2. Ministry Duties – 10%
Assisting WLAC current staff and ministry personnel with ministry opportunities as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
3. Miscellaneous Duties – 10%
Anything assigned by the Lead Pastor that pertains to any aspect of ministry at WLAC.
Expectations:
The Church Plant Pastor is expected to spend no less than 40 hours in ministry responsibilities on a weekly basis. (Note: If the ideal candidate is bi-vocational, then that number would be reduced.)
Qualifications
- We desire that the Church Plant Pastor has a demonstrated track record of preaching, leading, discipling and evangelizing.
- Preferably licensed and ordained for ministry in the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada or will successfully complete the licensing process with Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada as a part of the application process.
- Affirms the mission, vision, statement of faith, governance, and distinctiveness of the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada and WLAC Constitution and By-Laws.
- Theological education from an accredited institution would be an asset.
- Previous pastoral leadership experience is also an asset.

Please note that the salary range for this (full-time) position is $55,000 - $60,000 per year plus benefits.
